Checking around your windows for potential water damage can actually help you prevent costly future repairs. Whether your house is new, or old, the potential for leakage is there. You can install, for security purposes, a simple outdoor lighting system so you can see outside at night. If you choose to do this, then you should go ahead and get motion sensor activated lighting. By simply installing one of these lights above your front door, and outside of your garage, you will feel much safer. To be safe, put one in the backyard in case you have to go out there in the dark from time to time. Anything that moves within the proximity of the motion sensor will trigger the light to come on and the light will reveal their presence. If you want to get a little fancy, you can easily wire them to a switch so you can leave it activated or not.

It is always a good idea to periodically check your wall outlets to ensure everything is safe and normal. By using a simple plug-in device, the integrity of the circuit itself in the outlet can be monitored.

There are specific markings on this device to help you check your outlets. It also has LEDs on the plastic casing. To see if there is a problem, you simply use the device and make sure that the right LEDs light up. Sometimes, a wire can be shorted or have come loose which may be able to be detected.
