Nicky Hayden To Have Surgery On Injured Shoulder

Feb 5, 2012 by

After struggling at the MotoGP test in Sepang with a lack of strength in the shoulder he injured during winter training, Nicky Hayden is to undergo shoulder surgery to try to examine and correct the damage sustained. In a press release issued by Ducati on Sunday evening, the American announced that the damage suffered in his shoulder was worse than at first thought, and riding at the tests in Malaysia had highlighted the problems in his shoulder. After flying straight to the office of specialist Dr Ting in California, a preliminary examination showed up damage to the cartilage in his shoulder and muscles in his back, and the decision was taken to have surgery to examine the precise extent of the damage, and attempt to fix the problem.

RJ Says: Phoenix Supercross 2012 thoughts, Los Angeles Supercross preview

Feb 5, 2012 by

First off, I want to congratulate KTM, Roger De Coster, and Ryan Dungey for KTM’s first Supercross Class main event win. It’s huge. I know of all the work they have done in the past few years in developing winning machines, teams, and more. Look at what they did with Stefan Everts and Pit Beirer in developing the 350 SX model – two world championships so far with Antonio Cairoli.

KTM in America has been working on the new 450 that Ryan races. It’s a new effort, on a new bike. For Ryan Dungey, his win last Saturday in Phoenix goes a long way in many areas, but I feel the most important is that it adds confidence to the team and Ryan.

Visit to Coriano. Home of Marco Simoncelli

Feb 5, 2012 by

Last week we travelled to Italy and presented a copy (number 58/58 )of my drawing to Paolo & Rosella Simoncelli. From the sale of the picture we raised nearly Euro 5,000 for the Marco Simoncelli Foundation. It was a very emotional meeting and its been hard to put into words the sentiment felt. They are fantastic people and I have recalled the meeting and posted it on my web (www.stevewhyman.com)together with some photographs from the visit.

Hope you enjoy the read.  Cheers Steve Whyman
